00:00
we are primarily a pitbull rescue we've
00:02
been around since about 2011 and we work
00:06
mostly with the shelters in Eastern
00:08
Washington once you get a pitbull and
00:11
you understand how much they need us and
00:13
how much they need help and and how
00:14
wonderful they are you're kind of in for
00:17
life with these dogs we're about a
00:18
hundred dogs here out of the Washington
00:20
shelter system we take the ones that
00:22
need it the most which is why we're
00:23
called Forgotten dogs rescue is we take
00:26
the dogs that need help the most the
00:27
Forgotten ones that are left in the
00:29
shelter's we go get them out I have a
00:31
real soft spot in my heart for the older
00:34
dogs the dogs that really you know come
00:37
in not having been cared for in the way
00:40
that they should rescue isn't always
00:42
easy but that's what keeps us going is
00:44
seeing these dogs live their best life
00:46
after having not had a great chance to
00:49
start it was really great to come out
00:50
here today with sniff spot and let it do
00:53
of our dogs run around chunk was super
00:57
fun to see chunk actually came out to
00:58
sniff squat when we first got him into
01:00
the rescue and he was pretty shut down
01:02
he didn't really do a lot while I was
01:04
here today he ran around he emptied the
01:08
toy box it's really great to see him so
01:10
happy and being like a normal dog you
01:13
know not quite as shut down and
01:16
scared as he was when we first got him
01:18
so that was super fun long story short
01:19
once a dog comes in to the rescue
01:21
they're part of our family really mean
01:24
it like once so it comes into our
01:25
it's one of our dogs for life they'd
01:27
move do everything we can to help that
01:29
live a good healthy lives

The State of Public Dog Parks Across the United States thumbnail

The State of Public Dog Parks Across the United States

From 2009 to 2020, there was a 40 percent increase in the development of public dog parks. Designated spots for canine exercise have become commonplace in every major city in North America — many pet owners won’t even consider renting an apartment that doesn’t have its own fenced-in pet area for their canine companions.

How This Family is Affording Their Dream Property Through Renting it Hourly to Dogs

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”

How this Oregon Farmer is Making a Business From Renting Her Land to Dogs

Just 20 minutes outside of the busy city of Portland, Oregon, and settled right on the banks of the Columbia River, you’ll find what countless visitors have flocked to the area in search of – mountain views, crisp, clean air, and running water for miles. What you might not expect to find, however, is a hidden oasis designed just for dogs and their people, owned and operated by a farming couple and enjoyed by visitors on two legs, and four.
